Healint, expands it’s footprint, enters the field of Eczema

Eczema is a common skin condition that affects millions of people around the world. The symptoms can be severe, including red, itchy, and inflamed skin. Eczema can affect people of all ages, and it can have a significant impact on their quality of life. To better understand how Eczema affects people's lives, Healint conducted a clinical survey, examining the experiences of people suffering from Eczema.

The survey was conducted on 180 people, out of which 162 were adults and 18 were children. The participants were asked to complete two scales, the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI) and the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI). The EASI measures the severity of Eczema, while the DLQI measures the impact of Eczema on the quality of life of the participant.

The survey collected data on the participants' ethnicity, age, and employment status. The participants were also asked if they experienced any problems at work or while studying due to Eczema. Additionally, the survey compared the DLQI scores of participants with Eczema on the head and neck to those without Eczema in that area.

The median age of the participants was 43. The results of the survey showed that the severity of Eczema decreased after the age of 43. Participants below the age of 43 had an average EASI score of 5.61 and an average DLQI score of 6.28. In contrast, participants above the age of 43 had an average EASI score of 5.19 and an average DLQI score of 5.84.

The survey also found that approximately 40% of participants faced problems at work or while studying due to Eczema. Out of the 111 participants who answered this question, 44 said they experienced problems, while 67 did not. Among the 44 participants who experienced problems, 39 had a mild form of eczema (EASI below 7).

Over the last week how much has your skin been a problem at work or studying?

The survey also compared the DLQI scores of participants with Eczema on the head and neck to those without Eczema in that area. Participants with Eczema on the head and neck had an average DLQI score of 7.245, while those without Eczema in that area had an average DLQI score of 4.552.

Conclusion:

The survey results highlight the significant impact Eczema can have on a person's quality of life in particular when the Eczema affects the head and neck region. The results also suggest that people with mild Eczema may still experience problems at work or while studying. The survey provides valuable insights into how Eczema affects people's lives, which can help healthcare professionals develop more effective treatment plans for their patients.
